Position Summary and Scope of Service

Reporting to the HRIS Lead, the Human Resource (HR) Analyst will have a pivotal role in leveraging data and insights to support strategic HR initiatives. The HR Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics and conduct workforce analytics providing actionable recommendations to enhance HR processes and decision-making.

Responsibilities will include collecting, managing, and analyzing various HR metrics to identify trends, measure performance and provide actionable insights. The HR Analyst will collaborate with HR leadership to develop data-driven strategies that enhance workforce planning, talent management, and overall organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

Educational:

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a combination of experience and education in a related field required.
  • Three years of experience in related areas such as supporting HR systems, job classification and compensation, recruitment, selection, training, and employee payroll and benefits.

Professional:

  • Experience in supporting Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Experience using data visualization/data mining and modeling tools (ex. Excel, Snowflakes, Power BI, Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research and analyzing data within a business or HR context. This includes proficiency in collecting, managing, and interpreting HR-related metrics and data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the creation of complex charts, spreadsheets, dashboards and presentations for management review.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large, complex data sets effectively.

Personal:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear and concise reports.
  • Exceptional accuracy in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with a keen eye for identifying anomalies and trends.
  • Organized, ability to multi-task, prioritize, work quickly and to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ensures integrity, consistency and reconciliation of data production when delivering quality content.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, industry practices, and other sources.
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
  • Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
  • May conduct or assist with conducting job classification audits.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • May guide and/or assist with performance, benefit, and compensation review and evaluation processes.
  • Familiarity with the application of multiple Collective Agreements.
  • Support ad hoc analytics requests as required, including data requests that would benefit from a reporting output
  • Create HR reports and partner with key stakeholders to provide analysis and commentary on HR data and reporting outputs.
